Artist Statement
Human interaction is the driving force behind my sculptural works. Through this expression many outlets and scales are explored. I derive pleasure in the immediate through small studies in my "Personal Perplexus" series, built by hand or through rapid prototyping. Works in the "Superplexus" series entails commission work for museums and private collectors whose goals may differ, yet overlap in the physicality of larger-scale play. My "Perplexus" series provides interactive sculptural form on a mass scale through processes of manufacture and distribution. All three outlets offer immersive environments for the audience to experience spatial and kinesthetic growth.

As a collective experience, these lines of work fulfill me as a creative thinker and maker, provide income for my family, and a livelihood for many others. It is a substantial workload, requiring more than a full-time commitment. Despite this schedule, I feel it is important to remain an instructor of sculpture and design. There is an incredible opportunity to give to others the knowledge I've gained through my creative life. If it had not been for an art instructor more than 30 years ago, my entire body of work would never had occurred.
